The five wires of a windshield wiper motor operate as follows:
1. One wire is the intermittent speed wire, its operation controlled by an intermittent relay.
2. Another wire is responsible for the slow speed connection and is connected to the corresponding switch.
3. A third wire is dedicated to the high speed connection and is also connected to the corresponding switch.
4. One wire serves as the ground wire and is also connected to the switch.
5. The last wire is the reset wire, directly connected to the negative terminal. Its main function is to control the wiper motor's reset. The other four wires are controlled by the switch.
